Overview

By default, IP addresses assigned to a virtual machine are private, but you can request a public IP address. Armor will give you one free IP address per virtual machine. For an extra cost, you can request additional public IP addresses for the same virtual machine.


 

Assign an existing IP address to your virtual machine

If you already have an IP address listed in the Armor user interface, but this address is not assigned to a virtual machine, then follow these instructions. 

  1. In the Armor user interface, on the left-side navigation, click Infrastructure.
  2. Click IP Addresses
  3. If you have virtual machines in various data centers, then click the corresponding data center. 
  4. Locate the desired IP address. 
  5. Click the gear icon that corresponds to the desired IP address. 
  6. Click Assign to VM
  7. In To Virtual Machine, select your virtual machine. 
  8. Click Save IP Assignment. 

 


 

Request a new public IP address

  1. In the Armor user interface, on the left-side navigation, click Infrastructure.
  2. Click IP Addresses
  3. If you have virtual machines in various data centers, then click the corresponding data center. 
  4. Locate the desired IP address. 
  5. Click the gear icon that corresponds to the desired IP address. 
  6. Click Edit Assignments.  
  7. Click New Public IP. 
  8. In Location, select the location of your data center. 
  9. In Quantity, select the desired amount. 
  10. Review the screen on the right to view pricing information. 
  11. Click Add IP Addresses.  


 

Assign an existing public IP address to a virtual machine

  1. In the Armor user interface, on the left-side navigation, click Infrastructure.
  2. Click IP Addresses
  3. If you have virtual machines in various data centers, then click the corresponding data center. 
  4. Locate the desired IP address. 
  5. Click the gear icon that corresponds to the desired IP address. 
  6. Click Edit Assignments.  
  7. In Available Public IPs, select and move the desired IP address to Assigned Public IPs.  
  8. Click Save IP Assignment


 

Assign a private IP address to a virtual machine

  1. In the Armor user interface, on the left-side navigation, click Infrastructure.
  2. Click IP Addresses
  3. If you have virtual machines in various data centers, then click the corresponding data center. 
  4. Locate the desired IP address. 
  5. Click the gear icon that corresponds to the desired IP address. 
  6. Click Assign To VM.  
  7. Select the desired IP address.
  8. Click Save IP Assignment

 


Remove an existing public IP address from a virtual machine

  1. In the Armor user interface, on the left-side navigation, click Infrastructure.
  2. Click IP Addresses
  3. If you have virtual machines in various data centers, then click the corresponding data center. 
  4. Locate the desired IP address. 
  5. Click the gear icon that corresponds to the desired IP address. 
  6. Click Edit Assignments.  
  7. In Assigned Public IPs, select and move the desired IP address to Available Public IPs.
  8. Click Save IP Assignment
